BRIEF MENTION.

The Matamata Town Board has purchased 100 chairs for the Town Hall to supplement those already in use.

“To be or not to be ? ” That is the question for solution at the annual general meeting of the Matamata A. and P. Association on Wednesday night, at which meeting the general public, especially the town business people, are invited to be present.

Wednesday night’s storm caused portion of the main power line from Horahora to Waihou to fall and an interrupted power supply was given in the Thames Valley throughout the evening. The fault developed shortly before 5 o’clock and it was an hour before supply could be given through Waikino. The violence of the storm, causing wires to rock and come in contact, was responsible for intermittent failures throughout the night. The line had not been fixed this morning, supply still coming from Waikino.
