TRANSPORT PROBLEMS. 'An Important Report. The Traffic Advisory Committee appointed by the State Government to investigate traffic problems recommends the establishment of a Ministry of Transport, fully empowered to deal with condtions at present contributing to the congestion in the city streets. So far as Sydney is concerned, it is suggested that surface trams should continue uhtil the underground railway system is completed. A trial of doubledecker trams and buses and the coordination of these services is advocated in the interests of economy of street space. Improved transportation for the public and direct Stute roads for fast motor traffic am also suggested.
