Cricket Club Formed. There were about twenty residents present at a public meeting convened for the purpose of forming a cricket club, Mr. A. Adams presiding. After considerable discussion it was decided to form a club, to be known as the Walton Cricket Club, and the following officers were fleeted: Patron, Mr. W. McLean; president, Mr. A. Adams; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Dixon, F. Hirst, J. Shanahan, L. Mapp; captain, Mr. N. Johnstone; vice-captain, Mr. W. Kuhtz; committee, Messrs. J. B. X Steele, C. Fausett, P. Dixon; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. A. Guy; selectors, captain, vice-captain and Mr. G. Mathers. Members’ subscriptions were fixed at 10s 6d. Surprise Party. The daughters of Mrs. Fausett (Mrs. N. Johnstone and Miss Iris
Fausett) gave their mother a surprise birthday party recently. There were about '3O friends present, and a most enjoyable time was spent in music and song, Mrs. Johnstone, Miss I. Fausett and Mr. G. Fausett rendering some very enjoyable items which were much appreciated. Refreshments were served and the evening concluded with “ Auld Lang Syne.”
