The following are the results, of the competitions held on the Matamata green on Saturday last:—

McLeay (two losses), has beaten Buchanan, Oates and Halligan. Oates (two losses) has beaten Coote and Halligan. Coote (three losses) has beaten McLeay. Mclntyre, two losses, no wins. Morton, one loss, no wins. Shanks, one loss. Halligan, two losses, no -wins. Buchanan, one loss, no Avins.

Matters in connection with the “ invitation” games are progressing sat-, isfactorily, and given fine weather a most enjoyable time should be spent

in Matamata by -the visiting teams on Friday and Saturday next. The public should be treated to some fine exhibitons of bowling as sorne prominent members of the bowling world have accepted invitations. Amongst these w r e notice the names of Professor Maxwell Walker (Auckland), E. Pegler (Manurewa), J. Kelly (Ponsonby) and E. McPhail (Takapuna). Two rinks from Te Aroha and one from Morrinsville are also likely acceptors.
