TOKOROA LAND.
HEALTHY AND CLEAN. A Taranaki Opinion. The following letter, from an exTaranaki settler, who has taken up land in the Tokoroa district, to a friend in Taranaki, was published in the Hawera Star last week. It speaks for itself:—" I suppose you are in the same tracks as of yore, and the same work—cows, calves, pigs, and, oh! I forgot, mud. My dear old fellow, you don't know how I appreciate the change up here! No mud, no wind, positively mild all through the winter and spring, and a real pleasure to work under such conditions. My cow? here are doing absolutely better than in Taranaki; bags of milk hard, and feed, gee, she does grow! When I think of that place I have just vacated and see my rich pastures here, it makes me wonder why I was foolish so long. I do wish you were here. You would put on. a stone in. weight, and it is wonderfully healthy, and your wife, it is hard to say, but I believe that it would certainly cure her sore throat."
