WARDVILLE.
CRICKET MATCH. The Wardville eleven tried conclusions with a team from Manawaru iast Saturday. The visitors went in first and scored 47 in their innings. Peat 21 and Stone 17 were the highest scorers. Wardville then batted, and malting 55 runs, were declared the winners when with four wickets down stumps were drawn on account of the rain. The double-figure men for the home team were Bartleet 21 and Poynton 19 not out. POWER. The electric power reticulation of the Wardville district is making good progress. The 11,000-volt line under construction has reached the 20th pole, past Alexandra road, or in other words, alongside the Wardville school. It.is expected that the power will be switched on as far as Alexandra road before Christmas.
