In accordance with the request of His Majesty's Government the Citizens of Matamata are hereby asked to suspend all activities for a period of 2 minutes commencing at 11 a.m. TO-MORROW (Tuesday), NOVEMBER 11, as a mark of respect to the memorv of those who made the Supreme Sacrifice in the Great War. To the Residents of Matamata and District, — Lest we forget those who did not shirk what they considered to be their duty in the time of greatest difficulty we as a people have experienced it has been decided by a public meeting that our appreciation to those gallant souls shall take the form of a monument to be erected in front of the Town Hall. Individually you may not think this is the best form, but we would ask vou to sink all differences and join in the effort by giving to the utmost of your ability. Remember they served us well in our hour of need, to save us all from degradation, and greater love hath no man than this, that a man Jay down his life for a friend.
