OPENING OF BURWOOD LINKS. I i The Matamata Golf Club officially opened its new links, Burwood road, on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of about three-quarters of the playing strength of the club and in addition there wore some two score visitors from other clubs in the district. It is estimated that over 100 Wove present. . Mr. J. Reedy, president and secretary of the club, officiated at the opening ceremony, and in the course of his remarks welcomed the visitors and said that the club had to he congratulated on having so many preset. He referred to the good financial position of the club, it having no m-esent liabilities and in addition rent wis paid in advance for half a year. The links were in splendid condi- ' tion. the green being first class, ' thanks to the efforts of the members - who so willingly gave their services. Mr. G. L.
