NEW ' LAMPS. An innovation greatly appreciated by the settlers has been recently introduced iii Hinuera. That is the pro-, vision by the Thames Valley Eectoc Power Board of two powerful e ectnc lights in the vicinity of the station. One is placed in front of the post office and'the-other by the hall and together they light the railway crossing most efficiently. FACTORY MANAGER'S HOUSE. The timber for the new residence being erected for the manager of the Hinuera butter factory is now on the "round and an early start with building operations is anticipated. A* material is being supplied by, the directorate only the actual labour isi to be contracted for and tenders close for this next week. A glance at he plans shows a cosy little five-roomed house replete with all modem conveniences. POLITICAL. A meeting convened by the Hinuera Ratepayers' and Settlers' Association will be -held in the Hinuera hall on Wednesday. The purpose of the meeting is to welcome Mr. F. F. Hockly, M.P., member for the distirct, who will at the same time receive a deputation from the settlors with regard to matters Of vital importance to 'he locality, and on behalf of which Mr. Hockly's efforts in Parliament arc solicited
