FOOTBALL MANAGEMENT.
Last week's meeting of the mana, 'ment committee of the Putaruru Rrgby Union was held on Wednesday evening. . Mr. W. Bond presided and th.i-e was practically a full attendan e of members. , It was resolved that no caps be given the Union's representative ph'yers but that the .winners of the competition should be presented with caps this-year as last and that they should also hold the Ibbotson and Leslie Shields iintil the following season, the runners-up being awarded the Nathan Cup for the same period. Messrs. H. Pcar«o, 13. Scott and J. 13. Lowe were appointed the selectors for the representative team and it was decided to notify* the Waikato Union that the Putaruru Union wished to challenge the Matamata Union for the Fir.dlay Cup and also wished to play representative matches at Putaruru against Rotorua, Morrinsville, Cambridge and Waipa. Registrations of several players for the Putaruru, Rovers' and United teams were accepted. The executive council reported that as deputed it had investigated the question of ways and means of erecting a portable dressing-shed at the Putaruru grounds. Offers of timber had been forthcoming from three mills, while, through the good offices of a local businessman, all the other materials could be , secured at cost price. The labour also would bo given free by enthusiasts. Messrs. S. C. Sncll, M. Henderson and .1. Monoghan were appointed a committee to have the shed erected, being deputed to first ask the remaining two sawmillers in the district if they would also cooperate in providing the timber.
