Miss E. J. (Bobbie) Karl, of “ Willowbrook,” Putaruru, is at present on a visit to her uncle, Mr. H. T. Armstrong, M.P., of Christchurch. The ladies’ practice tennis tournament on the War Memorial Park was virtually concluded on Saturday. It provided interesting doubles play for lady members of the club and it was won by Mrs. Addenbrooke and Mrs. Bond (owe 15) with 35 games to theii credit out of a possible, total of 3(5. For second prize two couples each won 33 games, namely, Miss Alcorn and Mrs. Barnett (owe 15) and Miss Lochhcad and Miss lbbotson (owe 30 in 2). Some of the matches have yet to be played but they cannot alter the position as to the prize winners in the tournament.
