METHODIST SYNOD.

SOUTH AUCKLAND DISTRICT. The Methodist Synod of the South Auckland district was continued at To Aroha on Thursday, and concluded on Friday of last week. A resolution, heartily supporting the Boy Scout, movement, was carried unanimously. It was reported that there were .'57 churchmen in the district, and 82 other preaching places. The membership was 1054. There were 44 Sunday schools, with 2350 scholars. The Kcv. A. Hopper was appointed representative of Synod at the annual conference. Congratulations were extended to the Matamata prohibitionists on (ho defeat of the application for a hotel license at Matamata.
