Tokelau Stamps

Four new Tokelau stamps are being released by the New Zealand Post Office from November 16.

Designed by Tokelau Islander, Faraimo Paulo, the issue features four of the birds commonly found on the islands; the Akiaki 8c; the Vahavaha 10c; the Lakia 15c and the Gogo 30c. Paulo depicts the white Akiaki with a vivid purple background; the Vahavaha against green sea and blue sky; the Lakai standing on grey-black rocks back by

vivid blue skies and the Gogo nesting in the green crown of a pandanus tree. The stamps are only available in New Zealand from the Post Office Philatelic Bureau. Private Bag, Wanganui. (Mail Orders), and Philatelic Sales Positions at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton and Gisborne. A specially designed envelope will be used for unaddressed first day covers ordered from the Philatelic Bureau.
