LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Sir. —Allow mo to congratulate yon on your forceful leading article in last issue in which you convincingly brought to light the shortcomings of the local borough council. You have undoubtedly expressed the popularopinion that a progressive policy is long overdue. The present council has little or nothing to show in respect of improved street maintenance, camping ground improvements or anything that adds to the value of the town. Now is a good time to set the ball rolling in connection with much needed and desired amenities in our lovely town. There must bo close on £ISOO in sight out of carnival funds. A public meeting should be called as soon as possible to lay out a definite plan of campaign in- improvements to the town other than what is rightly the function of the council. I am, ‘ ‘ Progress. ’ ’
