Tennis. A mixed doubles tournament was played on Saturday last for the Knowles’ buttons. Eight pairs took part in ideal playing weather. Included among the players wore several visitors ithoso play provided additional interest. The winners were Airs Burt and S. McPherson with 12 points; the runners-up being Miss Naismith and McCambridge and Mrs Bowden and K. Sutherland with 11 points each. Mrs Olvcr and King 3; Mrs Vernon and Olver 6, Mrs Sutherland and Burt 0; Miss Naismith and McCambridge 3, Mrs 1). Scott and Rhodes 3; Mrs P, Scott and Ballinger 3, Mrs Burt and S. McPherson 3. Second Round.—Mrs Bowden and K. Sutherland 3, Mrs Vernon and Olver 3; Mrs Olver and King 3, Mrs Sutherland and Burt 3; Mrs P. Scott and Ballinger 3, Miss Naismith and McCambridge 3; Mrs B. Olver, Monte Carlo, Music was supplied by Mrs Sutherland, Mrs D. Scott, K. Sutherland with extras by Mrs Smith, Miss Eva Scott and Graham Scott. It is proposed to play a match of mixed doubles, Rees Valley versus Glcnorchy on Saturday.
