Stirring romance anil appropriate, believable drama, have been deftly blended and brought to the screen in Universal’s very special production, “Hers to Hold” which will commence its season at the Town Hall Theatre v\ith u matinee at 2.15 p.m. on Saturday. The object of the matinee is to counteract the smallness of the theatre by affording children an opportunity of having a session of their own. To emphasise the necessity for children attending the matinee there will be no reduced prices at tiro evening session.
Hors lo Hold’’ is by far the most serious picture in which Miss Durbin has been presented. Though the plot has its lighter moments, musical interludes and other diverting highlights, the bright romantic thread is never obscured. There is a throbbing love theme which grips and holds attention from beginning to end. Deanna portrays the debutante who adores an Army aviator. The aviator returns her love but secretly realises the futility of the attachment. Supporting Deanna Durbin and Joseph Gotten in the featured roles arc Charles Winninger, Gus Schilling and Evelyn Ankers. Deanna sings four songs that will appeal to every taste.

When Bob Hope makes a bet that lie can toll the truth for twenty-four hours, you can bet considerably more than the price of admission to the Town Hall Theatre that what will follow will be high-speed, gag-glorious comedy.
Right now Bob Hope is about tops in radio and screen comedy ■ and I lie management of the Theatre assures patrons that they will enjoy cverv inch of the film. Hope has with him in the loading role none other than the beautiful star Paulette Goddard and a strong comedy cast includes Edward Arnold, Leif Erickson, Helen Vinson. Glenn Anders, Grant Mitchell and Willie Best. ‘‘Nohing but the Truth ” concerns itself with a bet made by Bob Hope, in the role of a stockbroker that he can toil the truth for twentyfour hours. Sounds like great fun!

Against some of the most unusual backgrounds ever devised for a mvstory story the latest RKO Radio ‘‘Pal con” film, ‘‘The Falcon’s Brother,” unfolds in a series of thrilling episode; involving an international spy ring backed by the Axis Powers. A Wes. Indian coastal steamer, smart New York night spots and business offices, a Long Island air port and the belfry of a deserted church are included in the settings. George Sanders once more appears as tlio keen, cool super-sleuth, who makes his debut in the scries. A lino supporting cast is headed by Jane Randolph, in the role of an enterprising girl reporter.
