CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS DANCE
The children’s fancy dress dance which was held on Friday last in conjunction with the farewell to Mrs R. M. Douglas, proved one of the most successful which has been held in Arrowtown for many years. The hall, which was filled to capacity, bore an artistic appearance with coloured streamers and the stage was decorated with evergreens, peony roses, delphiniums, cream and red roses. The bright spectacle presented by the multifarious costumes worn by the children made for an unusually animated scone. The mothers are to be congratulated on their line effort in costuming tue children, also the teachers on ’he framing given. The grand inarch was led off by Miss Floric Adams and Master J. Baker and 31 young couples took part. At intervals during the simple dances in which the children entered enthusiastically and for which Mrs Willis Shaw provided the music, several choruses were sung.
