ARROW PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Arrow Patriotic Committee was held in the Council Chambers on June 25th. Mn J. H. Douglas occupied the chair and there were present Messrs E. J. Saunders, John Reid, W. B. Gibb, C. L. Johnston and P. J. Goomes. A letter was received from the Otago Provincial Council advising that £22,000 was required as an additional quota towards the All Purpose Appeal for 1942 for Otago. The secretary, E. J. Saunders, explained that he had worked out the Arrowtown subzone proportion of same to be £llO. Mr Douglas reported that the full amount, including the additional quota, i.e. £B6O, had been collected. B;e wished to thank the district for their generous support. Thanks was also due to all helpers and donors on Gala Day, especially the hard-working committee, Arrow Fire Brigade and the Glenorchy visitors.
