Lan Miller, A.S.C., territorial c.amp, Addington, is spending a short holiday with his parents, Mr and Mrs C. Miller, Mr and Mrs A, P, Griffin returned from Dunedin last week after a few days in the city. Telegraphist J. J. Taylor, formerly of the local P.O. staff and now on one of H.M. ships, is paying a visit to Queenstown. Pte, P, Clayton, Waiouru camp, is spending a short leave wjth his parents Mr and Mrs O. E. Clayton,

Mr H. M. S. Webb, one of the first men who enlisted from Queenstown for the present war, was invalided to New Zealand last December, spent a few days in Queenstown last week. Mr Webb saw service in Libya,' Greece and Crete.

Pte. Price Lewis, who came home on leave over a week ago, lias been an inmate of the Frankton hospital. He was discharged from the hospital on Monday last.

Miss Dorothy Jones, Dunedin, was the guest of Mrs E. Summers for the past week. Mr Sam Griffiths and daughter, of Dunedin, are visiting Queenstown. Mr Griffiths was in business here many years ago.

The Rev. D. S. Millar, M.A., vicap of Wakatipu, has been appointed vicar of the parochial district of St. Thomas of Auckland, in succession to the Rev, A. R. Allerton, Mr Miller graduated M.A. in the University of New Zealand with first-class honppfs in Latin and French, After spending some years in teaching, he entered St, John's College, Auckland, and was ordained deacon in 1932 and priest in 1933. He served as assistant chaplain at King’s College, Auckland, from 1932 to 1936, when he resigned to become rector of Moora, Western Australia. He returned to New Zealand, and was appointed vicar of Queenstown in 1940.
