FRANKTON WHARF TO REMAIN OPEN

The Hon. Adam Mamilton, M.P. for Wallace, advised the committee sot up in Arrowtown to deal with matters in connection with the projected closing of the Frankton wharf, that the wharf would be kept open pending in interview with the Railway Department. Following on this, advice was received that the Railway Department had been instructed that the steamer service to the wharf was to be continued until further notice. The Acting Prime Minister also wired that he had discussed the matter with the Minister of Railways and affirmed the decision not to interrupt the service until a representative of the Department had had an opportunity of discussing the matter with those affected.
