ATsitors to the Royal Oak Hotel during the week-end were Mr and Mrs Fisher and Mr Chaplin, Invercargill; Mr P. Hadock, Alexandra; Mr Swallow, Mosgiel. Mrs Gardiner, Invercargill, is he guest of Mrs J. McPherson, Central Hotel.

Miss Iris Romans, of the staff of the Waiitaki Girls’ High School, has returned to take up her duties after a holiday spent with her father, Mr G. H. Romans.

Miss Gwen Hanton, who has been on a visit to her parents, returned to King Edward Technical College on Saturday. Misses Shirley Reed and Allison Miller returned to the Waitaki Girls’ High School after spending the term holidays with their parents.

Friends of Mr John Jenkins will be pleased to hear that he is improving in health after his long illness. Mr and Mrs Hay, who were holidaying in Queenstown, were visitors to Arrowtown on Friday They were accompanied by Mrs Hay’s brother, a returned soldier from Egypt. Mr Arthur Tuffrey, Invercargill, is on a visit to his uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs G. R. Smith, Arrowtown. Mr John Boj’d Kokomai, is at present in Arrowtown on his annual holiday.
