QUEENSTOWN BOY SCOUTS
This week is proving to bo a very husv one for the local Eoy Scouts who arc benefitting by a visit of the Southland Metropolitan Commissioner Air G. E. T. Dorman, „of Invercargill. Or Monday morning seventeen boys enjoyed Scout games and stunts including message relays. Hag reading, knot tying ...signalling etc. In the afternoon Patrol Leaders and_ seconds visited Leader Lee at hospital and later practiced mapping direction and Scout pace. The remainder of the week will he devoted to tracking, a mystery hike ''poking, pioneering and a host m ideas useful to boys. The Scouts will have a special movie show of vvdd animats, etc. at their usual meeting on AA'oilnesday evening. A movie picture show of Scout. .Jamborees 'including the AA'orld Jamboree. of Scouts of 12 nations held in Holland in 1931 will be shown in the Town Hall on Thursday evening at. 8 o’clock. There is no charge for admission hut a collection "W'jll he taken to defray expenses. A hearty invitation is extended to one and all to come and see the scope of world scouting. Scouting offers the opportunity for our boys to develop sound character, to serve others and to equip themselves for the future of mankind. Our bovs of todav are the men of tomorrow —the men whose responsibility after victory is attained will be to shape events for a better international understanding. Scouting with its four members' owes much to its Leaders’ committee members and supporters. Commissioner Dorman is impressed with the .energy and keenness of the Queenstown Scouts whom, he considers it is a pleasure to assist.
