THE SEWERAGE SCHEME

GOOD PROGRESS REPORTED

Mr H. G. Royds, engineer for sewerage scheme, furnished a report to the last meeting of the Borough Council on the scheme a© at List September. Tu spite of bad weather conditions during the winter, good progress had been made. The. percentage of the different classes of work_ were set out in detail and it was .estimated that 40 per cent, of the pipe-laying had been carried out. The completion of man holes was somewhat delayed at first owing to no suitable men l>eing available. This work was now proceeding satisfactorily. Everything Avas organised to push forward the pumping station. Work would be resumed on the septic tanks in the near future. The engineer was able to assure the Council that the estimated cost of the scheme will not be exceeded. The report was adopted, the Council expressing satisfaction that the work had so far progressed satisfactorily.
