Mrs Thornton, Qlenorchy, is visiting Gore.

Mrs Stanton and small daughter are spending the holidays at Riversdale. Mrs T. Bryant, Kinloch. is paying a visit to Invercargill, Miss Jeffreys and Miss Jessie Mackenzie, Walter Pe k, are on holiday in Dunedin. Mr and Mrs R. J, Bennets ard small daughter are spending a holiday in Dunedin Miss Betty Hales is visiting Invercargill

Mr and Mrs E, N. Strang, Dunedin, are spending the holidays in their residence at Kinloch.

IMrs A. Gray and eon,, of Ijivercar gill, are staying with Mr and Mrs W Hales.

Miss Doris Wheatland, of Dunedin, is on holiday in Queenstown. Miss K. McKay is spending the term holidays at the home of her .parents. Mr and Mrs C. 11. Mckay. Mrs Gauntlett-Curtis is paying a visit to Christchurch.

Mr B. Hobson, of the local postoffice staff, has been transferred to Cromwell. Prior to his dep.arture he was presented with a fountain pen by fellow members of the Queenstown Football club.

The following returned home for the school holidays on Saturday .-Mary Munro (St. Dominic’s, Dunedin), Betty Clayton (Timaru Girls’ High School), Kathleen Lee (Waitaki Girls’ High), Josephine Inder (Tesclimakers), and P. McSoriley (Redcastle). Misses F. Macdonald (Auckland), N. Ker (Bay of Plenty), D. Gilbey (Wellington), and A. Kidd (Oamaru). students of the Presbyterian Women’s

Training Institute. Dunedin,,are spending the term holidays at “Tutuila,” where Miss R. Bent (New Plymouth) is also a guest. Mr and Mrs Jas. Cockburn and two small daughters left to-day for Christchurch where they will spend a holiday. Lieut. Dick of the Salvation Army has been transferred to Dunedin Sth, and will leave to-morrow morning. A farewell will be tendered to her this evening in the Salvation Army Hall. Mr T. M. Brooks, clerk of the Magistrate’s Court and District Social Security officer, has received 'notice of his transfer to Taihaoe. His successor is Mr R. MoSoriley, Hokitika. who is a son of Mr and Mrs T.

MoSoriley of this town. Mr Brooks will be inuch missed in sporting pnd ' drama circles in which he took an active part.
