Miss E. J. Billing, of J fel’1Won, is the guest of Mr and Mi sW. Hates. Miss May Harris, of Invercargill, is spending a holiday in Queenstown. Mrs Monson has returned from a holiday in Invercargill and Dunedin. Mr Colin Davis of Invercargill, is visiting Queenstown. Mr and Mrs R. Robertson returned to Queenstown during the week. Mrs 0. Elms of Tiraaru, is the guest of Mr and Mrs P. Elms. Mr and Mrs H. Davies have returned from a holiday in Southland. Miss Joyce Gray and Master Ken Gray. Invercargill, and Miss Margaret Halliday, Waitanc, are spending a camping holiday in Queenstown. Miss Gwen Matthews of Invercargill accompanied by her mother, spent a fortnight's holiday in Queenstown recently. Mr and Mrs J. Cochrane, and their two daughters, Ruby and Othalie, ot Otahuiti, have been spending a short holiday in their summer residence in Queenstown. Mr and Mrs John McDonald and their family of Invercargill are in residence on. the Eastern terrace. Mr and Mrs A. A. Fairborn, of Dunedin, have been spending the past week in Queenstown. They purpose going to Cattle Flat to be the guests of Mr and Mrs D. C. Aubry for a few days. Mr and Mrs E. R. Wilson, of Invercargill, arc spending a few days in Queenstown. Miss L. Thompson has returned to Balclutha after spending a holiday a. 5 the guest of the Misses Fitzpatrick, Arthurs Point. Miss Jean Crooks of Dunedin has returned home after spending a holiday in Queenstown. Lady Stanton Hicks. (Adelaide). Mrs K do Courcy Low (Christchurch), and Mrs Lilian Williams (Dunedin) have returned to Dunedin after spending a short holiday at “ Belmont, Mr and Mrs John Haggitfs summer residence.
Mr and Mrs J. H. Critchley, accompanied by Mr J. Payne, are .visiting 1 Queenstown. Mr Oritchley is the Australian Trade Commissioner in N.Z.
Mr and Mrs C. Gibb of Dunedin are the guests of Mr and Mrs I. Jenkins, Western Terrace.
Mr and Mrs Cyril Koderique have returned from a holiday in Invercargill. Miss Diana Herbert and Master David Herbert are the guests of Captain and Mrs Hazard at Bluff. Mr J Harts tonge of Dunedin has returned’home after spending a holiday in Queenstown. Miss M, Samuel and Miss Earwakor of Christchurch, are at present spending part of the summer vacation in Queenstown. Mr and Mrs K. Edwards and (Son, Christchurch, and Mr J. Paterson, Dunedin, were the guests of Constable and Mrs Eoycrol't during the holidays Miss Violet Eoycrol’t spent the holidays with her parents, Constable and Mrs Boycroft, Mr and Mrs J. Scott, Olifden, are the guests of Mr and Mrs Percy Scott. • The Hon. H. G. E. Mason, AttorneyGeneral and Minister of Justice, paid a flying visit to Queenstown at the week-end. Mr F. W. Bailey, local postmaster, is at present on annual leave in Dunedin, He is accompanied by Mrs Bailey and children—Mi- H. Walker is acting postmaster. Mr D. Higgins, a cadet from the Telegraph School, Christchurch, has been appointed to the staff of the local Post and Telegraph office. Miss Lily Edwards of Gavston spout the week-end with her parents, Mr and AV s W. Edwards. The Misses Meda and Bessie Paine of Dunedin, are spending a short holiday at Queenstown. Air and Mrs J. E. Wedderspoon and Mr J 0. Wedderspoon of Dunedin, are at present on a short visit to Queenstown. . Mr and Mrs Pitts and Mrs Lindsay, who have been ho'idaying in Queenstown, have returned to Invercargill. Mr Eon. Sloane and party of Invercargill, spent the week-end in Queenstown. Mr and Mrs Arthur Ives and family have returned from a holiday at Port Chalmers. They were accompanied by Miss K, Ives, who is their guest. 1 : 1 Mr and Mrs Aitken and ' two daughters of Wanganui, arc holidaying in Queenstown. Miss Marjorie McCurdy of Invercargill, is the guest of her brother, Mr M. McCurdy.
Mr T. Victor, a director of Moonlight Valley Gold, paid a visit to Queenstown during the week and left for Dunedin on Friday. He was ■accompanied by Mr Anderson, manager of the company. Mrs Lawson and her daughter of Weilington are guests of Mrs P. Reid, “Glenpanel.” Lower Shotover, Mr and Mrs lan Haggitt and family are in residence at “ Belmont,” Eastern Terrace The death took place at his residence, Kokonga, on Saturday last, of Mr Edgar T. Shand, erstwhile of Gibbston, Miss G. Tait of Tauranga is the guest of Miss Eva Davies at Golden Terrace House,
