TOWN HALL TALKIES

“JACK OF ALL TRADES,” SHOWING NEXT SATURDAY. One of Jack Halbert's dances In the new Gaumont-Brit’sh song and dance comedy, “Jack of All Trades,” which is coming to the Town Hall on Saturday next, is highly original in its setting. Hulbert and his charming little partner, Gina Halo, are supposed to me:tin a fashionable restuarant where Jack has come to talk “big business" with a company director. As they sit drinking cocktails two dancers step on to the platform at the end of the room. As Jack watches he- imagines that the man on the platform is himself and the girl him. The camera takes us close to the platform and suddenly the man’s figure becomes that of Jack Hulbert dressed in smart white coat, and the girl becomes a swaying Gina Alalo. They do a breathless dance together, but- when it ends Jack is discovered at the table still quietly watching. The whole thing is an imaginative idea cleverly carried out.
