~ Strouacli, Morris and Go., Ltd., re--1 port for week ending Thursday, BUtli May, 1935, as follows: I Fat cattle.—There was a large en- : try, -190 being forward. A large pro- ' portion of theec consisted of medium quality, Price i for prime cattle were practically on a par with last sale’s rate**, while medium and inferior sorts were easier. Extra prime heavy bullocks to £3l 17s Gd, prime £8 1.7s Od to 119 17s Gd, medium £G 15s to ! 117 15s, light- ,11-1 lOs upwards. Extra I prime cows and heifers to £8 17s ; Gd, prime £G 5s to £7 ss, medium £3 15:s lo £4 10s, light £2 upwards, j Eat sheep.—There was a large enj try, 2583 being penned. The bulk J of' these consisted of medium to fair j quality ewes. Prices for prime ewes I were easier by about 2 per head on | last sale’s rates and wetfhers' Is, ! freezing sorts being on a par. Ex--1 tra prime Show wethers 3Ss to 41s, prime heavy 2(is Gd to 295, prime 24s lo 25s Gd, medium 21s to 22s Gd, light 17s Gd upwards. Extra prime heavy ewes to 245, prime 21s to 22s Gd, medium 15s to 16s Gd, light Its Gd upwards. Fat Lambs.—Tiieie was a large entry, 2309 being forward.. These consisted principally of medium quality. There was good competition both from butchers and -exporters, and prices were on a par with last sale's rates. Extra prime heavy lambs to_ 2Gs, prime- 21s Od to 235, medium 19s to 20s Gd, light 15s Gd upwards. Fat pigs.—There was a email entry, of fat pigs and prices all round were 1 firmer by 5s per head on last sale’s rates. Bto re pigs were easier, j Oats. —The market is quiet at prej sent and very few samples are coming j to hand. ‘A’ grade gait one are r.oininj ally worth up to 2s KM on trucks country sidings. Wheat.—Very little milling wheat is now offering and fowl wheat meets with good enquiry at up to 4s Sd ex j truck, Dunedin. i Potatoes-Consignment' have eased oil during the last week, I and there is a fair enquiry for prime i tables which are "bringing up to £6 ex store, Dunedin. Chalf. —A fair quantity is coming to hand and the demand is confined to prime quality which is bringing up to £5, ex store, Dunedin. Sheepskins.—We held our sheepskin sale on Tuesday last, and offered a fair sized catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Competition, and pri-e-s for good .full-wooiled cross-bred and fine cross bred skin® showed an advance of Jd to £di per 1 lb on last sale’s rates. Half bred full- [ wools to 9d, half wools to 7kl, quarter wools lo Gj-d, fine- cross- bred full wools to 7d, half wools to Gd, quarter wools to s]d, line lioggetsqfco 7id, crossbred hoggets to G|d, half bred lambs to 7d, crossbred lambs: to Cfd, dead and. damaged half bred to 7d. dead and damaged crossbred to Gd. dead and damaged lambs to G-fd.
