GOLF.
MEN’S SECTION.
Last week was devoted to knockout competition and club championship matches, several of which, were got olf. Weather conditions were ideal and the links in good playing order. Results are as follows; —
Knock-out competition-Romans defeated Wilkinson, 2 up and 1; Dagg defeated Warring (by default). Club championship. — Griffin won from Hannan (retired); Cooke defeated McKay 7 up- and 6. Next week’s event will be a stroke competition (trophy, a golf ball) and the draw is as follows; —Wilkinson v Romans, Warring v Marker, Farrant v Anderson, Dagg v Cooke, Griffin v McKay, Mosley v Cockerill, Herbert v Gardiner.
Several of the above players have still to play their “Knock-out competition games. They are requested to play them olf in conjunction with their stroke match.
LADLES' SECTION. During the week Mrs AVilkinson and Miss Southberg played the semi final of the Ladies’ Championship, Mrs ' Wilkinson defeating Miss Southberg, 3 and 2, after a very interesting game. Mrs Wilkinson now meets the winner of the match, Mrs McKay and Mrs Curtis, in the final. The results of Saturday’s match for a golf ball resulted in a win for Miss Southberg with a score of 108-28-80; Next in order were; —Mrs Curtis 101-23-81, Mis Wilkinson, 107-18-89, Miss Geisow 120-35-90, Miss Henderson 139-33-103. Next Saturday a Stroke round for a Club button will be played. Following is the draw: Mrs Wilkinson v. Mrs McKay, Mrs Curtis v Miss Henderson, Miss Geisow v Miss Sputh,berg, Miss Fraser v Miss Managh, Mrs Macdonald v Miss Robertson
