Modern factories are being established in every province of the country. and owing to the lack ol propel 1 railroad facilities new roads are constantly being opened to motor traffic. The Shall of Persia has developed fast road making into a tine art. He simply informs his Minister lor Roads el his intention to visit some distant part of Ids country leading to which there is still only 'a cart track. The next dav an army of workmen is drafted to that particular track, and by the time the Shah is ready to start Ids journey there is a road (it lor automobiles to travel on. The need for heavy trucks is now becoming great, and the control department has been obliged to oiler facilities to tho importers ol the heaviest tvpcs. At present European trucks arc in the majority of those being imported, as they are especial > fitted for the primitive and hastily constructed roads there.
