PERSONAL NOTES.
Miss McGuhbiii returned from Dunedin on Friday evening. "Mrs I. Hunter returned on Friday from Dunedin, where she had spent a fortnight. Mrs I’. Johnston, Christchurch, is the guest of her sister, Mrs Jas. Earrant. ’Mrs W. Elliot, who has been the guest of Mrs W. Pylon for a week or or so, returned to Birchdale Station tills morning. Mrs C. Barker returned to Bluff on Friday after being the guest of her -sister, Mrs Thos. Luckie, Melbourne street. Mrs S'. Johnston of Christchurch has been the guest of her -brother, Mr F. Anderson, Hallenstcin street. Mr L. S'. Daw,son, Surveyor of Ships and inspector of Machinery, Invercargill, paid a departmental visit to the district 'during the week. Mr Dawson' is successor to Mr W. T. Mclntyre, who has retired on superannuation. Mr J. S. Nicolson, dental superintendent, Dunedin, paid a visit of inspection to the local public school to-day. Air R. B. Tennant, Fields Superintendent of the Dept, of Agriculture, Dunedin, was a passenger to the Head of Lake this morning. Mrs H. F. Hicks of Wyndham is paying a visit to hen* aunt, Mrs T. Davidson, Stanley St.. She is accbm-j-.an.td by her son and daughter. Airs J. R. Alills and her two children returned to Queenstown from Napier last night. Airs Alills was accompanied by her brother, Air G. F. Murchison, who lias been visiting Napier. Major Ack 1 and. who was at Cecil Peak Station earlier in the week and who spent the week-end in Queenstown, left for the north yesterday morning.
