RIFLE SHOOTING
The annual riflo competition tor the Mackenzie Shield took place' at Gore on the 25th' December last. Nine clubs were represented with a total ol' 1G teams comprising SO shots. The gathering was the most representative' one of its kind in 'Gore lor about 1G years. A team comprising Pres. H. Mackenzie, D. R. Gray, A. J. Vernon, 11. J. 'Mackenzie and Major P. Mackenzie represented the Wakatipu Club which was fifth in order ol scoring. City Guards (No. 1 (Invercargill) were tire winners ol the shield. Excellent wveat!ter prevailed with the result that some good scores were put up. GLENORCHY SECTION. A handicap competition was tired by the above section on the GLeuorchy range on November loth and December Gtli lor a sack ol oats, donated by Mr John Herd, Arcadia.
