PERSONAL.

A marriage of district interest was solemnised at Oturehua, Central Otago, on the 17th inst., the contracting parties being Mr John Hastie, son of the late John Hastie of Carlake, Scotland, and Miss Margaret J. Nelson, elder daughter of Mr Alex. Nelson, Oturehua. The Rev. P. Keene was the officiating clergyman. The bridegroom was a former resident of Arrowtown. Mr and Mrs D. Gallagher (Middlemarch) and Mr and Mrs 7. Aherne (Owaka) came to Arrowtown on Thursday for the funeral of their sister-in-law, Mrs W. Ewart. Mr. and Mrs A. Hanton, of Dunedin, are at present on a visit to the former’s brother, Mr J. Hanton, AG ’rowtown.
