PERSONAL NOTES.

Mrs Geo. Shaw of Elfin Bay is on a short visit to Invercargill and Gore. Mrs Jas. Davies of Golden Terrace is visiting Invercargill. Mr A. H. le Hoyles arrived from Invercargill last night. Mr J. S. Baxter of Invercargill is on a visit to Queenstown. Mr F. B. Adams, Crown solicitor, Dunedin, and his' wife are guests at the White Star Hotel. Mr and Mrs Thos. Houston of Lower Shotover and their youngest daughter, Miss Nancy, have now taken up residence at the Two Mile, Queenstown. Mrs Geo. Chalmers went during the week to Dunedin, where she intends to take a course of training in maternity work at St. Helen’s Hospital. Mr "and Mrs Eyton and family left Queenstown yesterday for Dunedin. After a short visit there Mr Eyton will go on to Botorua to recuperate after his recent illness.

Mrs Thos. Spiers arrived from the Auckland province at the week-end on a visit to her sisters, the Misses Eobertson, Frankton. Mr and Mrs Hassell of Marton arrived in Queenstown on Friday night. They intend to take up residence here for some months. At present they are at Hamilton Flouse.

Mrs J. Kilpatrick of Dunedin was a passenger by the steamer last evening. Her husband, the Rev. J. Kilpatrick, is the supply at St. Andrew's Church, Queenstown, at present. Mr and Mrs Thos. M. Houston have returned to Lower Shot-over after spending their honeymoon visiting 'Canterbury and parts of Southland. They were accorded a royal welcome by the residents of the district at their home, where a large party of young people numbering upwards of sixty were hospitably entertained by Mr and Mrs Thos. Houston, senr. Mrs Godard left on her return "to Christchurch 'last Wednesday after spending a month with her daughter, Mrs W. H. Overton. She was accompanied by her son, who has also been visiting his sister at Laurel Bank. Mrs Irwin Hunter and Miss Molly Hunter of Dunedin arrived during the week in Queenstown, where they will in future reside. Prior to coming here they were on a visit to Australia. Mrs Hunter has been a regular visitor to Queenstown for many years past with her husband, the late Dr Irwin Hunter. Her many friends here will accord her and her daughter a warm welcome.

Miss Gordon of Garstou, who lias been visiting relatives in the Cromwell district, has been the guest of Mrs Alex. Boyne during the past few ciavs.
