The president, in speaking to the report, said the members might, congratulate themselves on having had the most successful year in the history of the Society. Taking into consideration that they had had to pay £37 odd as expenses in connection with aban-do-nimienit of show in 1925 as well as other extraordinary items it was most satisfactory to record a credit balance of £29 11s 4d. The position was all the better, too, owing to certain exhibitors not having drawn their prize money. In referring to the increased entries received last year, Mr Lee drew attention to the fact that owing to want of accommodation in the sheep section, caused through numerous entries, they had had to ask some of the exhibitors not to bring their entries along 1 . They would therefore require to provide more facilities for _ showing sheep next year. The president referred to the great improvement effected in the enlargement of the show_ buildings. During the year the irrigation scheme for the district had commenced and was now well under way. In two or three years’ time they hoped to see it completed, which would bring about a new era of prosperity for the district and much improved prospects for future shows. During the winter, Mr Tennent, Instructor lor Agriculture, very kindly arranged lor a farm school to he (held in Arrowtown and lie jhought that much benefit had accrued to the farmers by means of the school. It was toped to include A.rrowtown in the larger j school next winter. The farm school ! was eventually going to help the show. The president made brief reference to the markets for wool and meat, etc. The price for wool and lamb 1 and ,mutton was satisfactory, but tin; 1 market for dairy produce was not too bright at the present time. It was up to the Society to do all it could to Help (to improve- the stock

and other conditions in the district. In conclusion Mr Lee expressed his appreciation of the valuable servioeis rendered during the .year by their secretary Mr Tobin. He then moved tine adoption of the report and balance sheet which was seconded by Mr W. S. lie id and carried. ELECTION OF OFFICE-BEARERS. Mr L. Lee was re.-eile.oted president on tire motion pf Messrs Paterson and W. S. Redd. Mr W. S. Reid was re-deeted vicei president on the iniotioiii of Messrs Douglas. and Lee. Mr Paterson was re-appointed field steward.

The following executive committee, was appointed:—Messrs T. Houston, R. M. Paterson, V. Reid, J. W. Miller,, A. Mcßride, J. Jenkins, junr, IE Hunter, J. E. O’Conncil, Jas. McLean,, H. M. McAdiara, R. Reid to hold it- a week later did not find a seconder.
