In the Belper matches on Saturday last both the- holders (Miss Geisow and Mr L. J. Lynch) successfully defended their badges against the challenges of Mrs Melville and Dir Anderson, respectively. In the stroke competition played by the lades the test card was handed in by Mrs Gilkisenl (56-7-48). In the men’s competition, the winner was Air Gilkiison. (92-22/-70), P. Stoop (93-16-77) being the runner up. On Saturday next mixed 1 foursomes will be- played, the following- being the draw;— Belper Badges: T. Melville (30) challenges L. White and Alr-s- Melville v, W. Eyton and Aliss N. Kennedy; J, Dagg and Airs Curtis v. S. David and Alrsi Mcßride. Other players will be arranged for on the linjkis. On Saturday week the Club’s team will visit Pembroke for its annual match. Members- should avail themselves of the next fortnight to get ini all the practice possible. Members) are: also advised to familiarise theimfselves with rules for match play, which differ from the rules for stroke play.
