PERSONAL NOTES.
Dr. Gillies is at present doing relieving duty at the Lake County hospital. Dr. Watt touk ins holiday leave last week. Mr M rn. McKibbin, Crown Terrace, lias been returned as member for Arrow Hiding in the Lake County Council in place of Mr G. S. fidie, resigned. The Standing Committee of the Diocese of Dunedin parsed the fotlpiwing resolution at its last mooting:— "The Standing Committee desires tP place on record its appreciation of i{ic devoted life of the Mod. Itevcrendi Samuel T.un-at t Xevilil, the first Mishop of Dunedin, and for 15 years Primate of the Provincial Church of New Zealand. It. recognises that for nearly 50 years, in the facet of almost overwhelming difficulties, he gave himself to pioneer work of I lie highest kind. It gratefully acknowledges ihai. Ihe diocese as it crusts to-day, with its cathedral, its college, its orphanages, and other institutions, is his creation, anti thanks Ood for .the example of zeal and of unwearied' labour that lie has left us, The Standing Coimnibtee extend its deepest sympathy to Mrs Nevill in her bereavement."
