ROLL OF HONOUR.

PRIVATE CHARLES MciIENAMIN. Private C. McMenamin, who was killed in action in Prance on the 7tli June last, enlisted in this district at the beginning of the war. lie was working at the Rees Valley citation, Glenorchy at the time of iiis enlistment. Private McMenamin, it will probably be remembered, left Queenstown with the hrst batch of horses from this district. He went to Egypt in 1914 and landed in (ialiipoii in May, 1915, and was there till the evacuation, being one of the last to leave. He saw service in France last year and was severely wounded in action. He then was an inmate »of Oxford, hospital, , England, for a considerable time. He spent last X'mas at Codford, having some minor ailments there which detained him in England until well on formed, the King's ltoyal Light Inin the year. He was then attached lo a new brigade that had been i'aatry, and lie was probably a member of this when he met his death. Deceased soldier was a line young fellow, a faithful and conscientious worker and a keen soldier. He was" I *® deservedly popular and the news of 4 s his death will be received with much regret.

RIFLE MIX H. J GREEW Rifleman Harry J. . Green, wounded in the left eye in action in Flanders and admitted to hospital on Bth June, is the sou of the late Harry Green, ot "Qucenstown, and Mrs M. S. Green, E!!es Road, South Invercargill. Rifleman Green, who is 25 years of age, was born at Queenstowu and educated at tnc public school here. A painter and paperhanger by trade, he served his/ apprenticeship 'with Messrs Wm. Farnie and Sons. Invercargill. He left New Zealand with the 14th Reinforcements and was promoted Corporal. After reaching France lie was drafted into the 3rd Battalion, N.Z. R'fle Brigade.
