Stronach, Morris & Co. Ltd. report for week ended Thursday 22nd March 1917, as follows. — Fat Cattle.—2ls penned. The yarding was in excess of requirements and prices dropped lUs to 15s per head ou last week's rates. Best bullocks =£'(> 10- to =£lß ; medium i!l4 to ; best cows and heifers iill lUs to =£l3 10s; medium ,£9 10s to =6lO 10s.
Fat Sheep.—2729 penned. "'"The yarding conisted chiefly of ewes and wethers of medium quality. There was a keen demand for all prime quality sheep and the butchers end exporters competed freely for this class Best wethers 40s to 43s ; extra to 52s ; good 34s to 375, best ewes 33s to 40s ; extra to 4S$; good 34s to 37s ; best ewes 38s to 40s; extra to 4Ss; good 34s to 37s ; medium 29s to 31s; others ISs to 225. Lambs. —153U penned. Competition was keen all round and the yarding was clear, ed at prices on a par with late rates. Best lambs 2Ss to 31s ; extra to 30s 8d; good 23s tid to litis ; unfinished to 225.
Pigs.—A small yarding of both fats and stores. Competition for fats was very ben and prices were firm at late rates. Gocd baconers IOUs to 120s ; extra he ivy to 140s ; best porkers to .SUs ; medium to 655. Oats. —'1 here is a strong demand for all bright heavy lines suitable for milling and seed, and an advance on late prices must be recorded. Prime milling 3s 8d to 3s 9d; good to best feed 3s 5d to 3s 7d; medium 3s 3d to 3s 4d per bushel (sacks extra.)
