Mr McCarthy maintained that he bought the privilege for £lO, and although he subsequently offered to run it in the interests of the Club, the offei was not accepted. The auctioneer (Mr T. J. Cotter) stated that he never sold the privilege and there was a feeling generally that no distinct arrangement had been made. It was acknowledged afterwards that a misunderstanding had existed between the Privilege Committee and Mr McCarthy, and it- was decided to leave the final settlement to the parties immediately concerned. It was resolved to g.ve a fresh guarantee to the bank to overdraw up to £l5O, and when such is completed to pay all accounts at once. The president took occasion to voice the thanks of members to Secretary Mcßride for great amount of work he had put into the recent meeting, contributing largely to its success. He also thanked Mr T. J. Cotter who, in conjunction with the secretary, had gone to considerable trouble in arrangeing for the conduct of the luncheon booth, etc. On the. motion of Messrs Baird and Paterson, a voto of thanks was accorded the secretary for the way in which he had carried out his duties.
