NOBLE ACT.
There was an old Scotsman floating in a skiff on the headwarters of Loch Goil. He was fishing—fis-h mighty fine up that way. He had a boy in the boat with him, who kept looking in the water till he overbalanced and disappeared. Quicker than 1 can tell you the old man had his coat off and dived for the boy. He brought him up all right and then rowed for the bank. When they got out, dripping, of course, a stranger, who had seen the whole business, complimented the old man on his heroic "He is a son of yours;''' queued th« stranger. "No, no, sir, no son of mine. " Nephew, then P" "No, sir." "Cousin?" "No, no cousin." ' Then you deserve all the mora credit for saving his life.''
