QUEENSTOWN LAWN TENNIS CLUB.

The arnual meeting of the Queenstown Tennis Club was held in the Like County Council Chambers on Tuesday evening, about a dozen members being present. Mr R. H. Turton occupied the chair.

The minutes of previous annual meeting were read adopted. No balance sheet was presented but it was calculated that the club would have a satisfactory credit balance. Dr Douglas was unanimously reelected president and Mr R. H. Turton was elected vice-president. Mr Jas. Bevin was appointed secretary. The following ladies and gentlemen constitute the committees for the ensuing year General: Mrs Bevin, the Misses Geisow and Reid and Mr Wave; match: Misses Geisow, Firth, Reid and Messrs Bevin and Ware; afternoon tea committee: Mrs Bevin. Misses Gudgeon, Mathews, Warren and Millward. A motion which was put to the

meeting that the subscriptions remain as at present, viz , gents' 10s, ladies' 5s t was lost and an amendment in favor of a reduction by half, It was decided that visitors introduced by a member of the club become lion, members for one month and thereafter pay Is per week up to the limit of the respective subscriptions of the regular members of the club. The matter of arranging for the putting of the court in order for the forthcoming season was left in the hands of Mr Turton. The general play afternoon was altered from Saturday to Wednesday, and the date of the opening day lixed for 4th Oct., weather and state of court permitting. The secretary was instructed to communicate wish the Arrowtown and Gore clubs re matches to be* played duiing the season.
