MINING JOTTINGS.

The master of the Prince Arthur dredge wired on Saturday that he anticipated no difficulty in raising the dredge, but it would be necessary to have the assistance of divers to do it. The climatic conditions since the dredgemaster was in Dunedin at the annual meeting of the company have been of almost unprecedented severity, and in consequence the work of refloating the dredge has been considerably more expensive than would have been the case if the weather had been favorable. This, together with *he fact that some of the claims of the creditors are pressing, may necessitate the making of financial arrangements pending the resumption of operations. Any such arrangements will, however, be in the direction of fully conferring the interests of all creditors and also those of the shareholders. The directors wish to impress upon shareholders the advisableness of not parting with their shares until they are taken into the full confidence of the directors, which will be within the nsxt day or two.—' Daily Times.' In conformity to the wishes of dredgemaster Kitto the divers and apparatus were sent off and arrived in Queenstown on Monday last and were dispatched to the soene of operations on Tuesday.
