M'Kay Bros.'weekly report of actual salis in Exchange Sale Rooms, Esk Street Invercargill. for the week ending Saturday, AJay 4th, 1901. Cows.—Only two entered; one sold at £4 15s. Poultry.—A splendid entry ; over 300 penn*d and prices very fair. Roosters and old hens Is t<> Is 5d each. Ducks Is 7d to 2a 5d paeh, Turkeys (12) 3s 6d to "s each. Figs.—Fair entry, 50 being soid at varying prices ; good sorts sold well, but scrubs were hard to quit—Prices ranged for weaners from 4s to 9j each, and slips up to 14s each. Onions.—B3 per cvvt. Potatt>es.-£3 10s to £3 15s per ton. Chaff.—sos to 55s per ton. Oats. —6s a bag. Wheat.—Bs to 83 a bag. Tarnips.—Bag Is 6d, Truck lots lis per ton.

Fruit is scarce and dear. Bananas I6s, Pears 4d per lb. Dessert apples 3d per lb, and cooking 2d. Quinces ss. Lemons 14s 6d, no oranges or pines. Sale this week. Wednesday at 10.15 a.m.

Fat Cattle. showing a slight advance on those ruling last week. Best bullocks sold at £7 10s to £S 15; extra heavy £9 to £9 12s 6d , medium, £6 to £7 ss. Best cows and heifers, £6 to £7 10s, medium to good £4 10s to £5 15s. Sheep. large entry bidding was dull and pricss were 6d to Is, lower than last week. Best crossbred wethers 15s 3d to 16s, extra prime 17s, medium 14s to 15s. Best ewes 14s 6.1 to 15s 6d extra 15s sd, medium lis 6d to 12s. Lambs.—lo76 penned, prices ruling slighly easier. Beat lambs lis to lis 9d; medium 9s 6d to 10s 9d.

Pigs.—Only 40 forward there being a fair demand. Suckers were forward, slips 15s to 18s, stores 20s to 255, porkers 27s 6d to 35s Baconers 37 s to 455. Rabbitskiss. Market firm. Winters 16d to 17$ d, springs 9d to 6d to Ssd, small 4d to per lb. Sheepskins.—No sales since last report. Hides.—ln good demand. Prime heavy ox, 4d to 4sd; medium to 3|d, cow hides 3id to 3 7/Sd per lb. Tallow. —Market unchanged. Best rendered 16s 6d to JBs 15.1. medium 14s to 16s fat, lis to 12s 6d per cwt. Wheat.—lu fair demand. Prime milling 2s 6d to 2s 7d, medium 2s 2d to 2s sd; fowl wheat Is lid to 2s lid. Do (broken) Is 8d to Is lid per bushel (sacks in). Oats.—Market firm. Milling, Is 6Jd to Is 7d, good to best feed Is 5d to Is 6Jd, medium Is 3d to Is 4id per bushel (sacks extra).

Chaff.—Market unchanged. Prime oaten sheaf £2 10s to £2 15s ; medium £2 to £2 7s ,6d per ton (bags extra.) Potatoes.—Market well supplied. Kidneys £4 10s to £5. Derwents, £3 10s to £4 per ton (bags in).

WEEKLY MARKET REPORTMessrs A. Moritzson and Co., Dunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for the week ending Wednesday last; all quotations being subject to market fluctuations :

We would ask farmers when sending samples always to put a price un them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make oners. Wheat.—The market remains steady at late quotations. Fowl feed is in good demand. We quote : Best velvet, 2s 6d to 2s 7d ; best Tuscan, 2s 7d ; medium 2s 4d to 2s 6d ; red chaff, 2s sd; fowls w heat 2s to 2s Id. Oats. —Prime milling Is sd, bright short feed Is 4d meoium and inferior Is 2d to Is 3£d. Barley.—Feed sorts are quoted at Is 3d to Is 6d; milling, Is b\l to Is 9d; malum.', 2s to 2a 9d; Lakes 3s to 3s 6d for prime quality. We have several large orders to fill and shall be pleased to receive samples. In all cases state price wanted, delivered at Frankton, as buyers strongly object to make offers. We have already placed a considerable quantity front 2s 6d to 3s at Franktou. Ryecorn.—2s to 2s 6d. Maize, 3s, per bushel of 60 lb.

Chaff.—We quote prime, £27s6J to £2 12s 6d ; mediam, £2 to Jt'2 5s per ton. Ryegrass —There is a fair demand but prices show no improvement We quote Farmer-dressed, Is to la 6d ; extra clean and heavy up to Is 9d, Cocksfoot, 2d to for fanners lots, and 3d to 4d for machined. Pressed straw, £1 ss. Ciover hay, £3 ss. Potatoes.—£3 5s per ton.

Rabbitakius. vYe offered a fair catalogue this wees; competition was good aid prices ruled firm at quotations. Suckers and runners, 3d to 6d ; summer, 6d to 8d ; Autumns, Bsd to 11.Jd. Early winters to 13d. Sales every Monday. Sheepskins. We quote : Felts, 6d to Is lOd; crossbred, 2s to 4s. We sell every Tuesday. Hides, 3-id to according to weight and condition. We have a special enquiry and can guarantee top market prices Tallow. —Rough fat, 12s 6d ; rendered 15s to 17s per cwt. Horsehair, Is Id to Is 2d.

Binder Twine. —We have a large stock and can supply same at lowest quotations. Crown Sheep Dip.—The best in the market, price 4s 6d per gallon. Gibson's Cattle Brand.—We quote 9s for small and 15s for large tins. We supply rabbit and sheep netting, and give special quotations by the mile. Farmer's Fairbanks 400 lb. scales, £5 10s. We are agents for Newton's patent woolpresses, £l3 each, which can be inspected in oar store.

Bergers red and black sheep branding oil 4s per gallon. Clovers, rape, and turnip seeds all freshly landed, prices on application. We have erected a crusher and kibbler and are now prepared to crush grain, linseed, and kibble peas and beans. FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT.

Cheese.—Factory, 5Jd. Akaroa, sd. Onion's 7s per 'jwt. Pigs—For sizes up to 1601b, Z\ ; over that weight, 2%'\ to 3d. Beeswax, is 3d to Is 4d. Honey, 4d to 4id.

Batter Boxes.—We can supply 561b butter boxes with vegetable parchment lining at ' 17s per dozen net on trucks here.

Vickery's Egg preservative, 22s 6d per case. Payment must accompany order. Italian Oranges, 200, 20s per case ; Italian Oranges, ISO, 15s per case ; Italian Lemons, 300, 308 per case.
