QUEENSTOWN GYMNASIUM CLUB.

The seventh annual meeting of above club was held in the Garrison Hall on Wednesday night last, there being a very meagre attendance of members. Mr Wenkheim, the past president, who was voted to the chair, in his opening remarks stated that he was sure that last season's doings, both from a financial and operative view, were highly satisfactory. The club would start the coming season with a credit balance in the bank of £2 lis 3d, and with the complete plant at their hands. Very little money would need to be spent for equipments. During the practices of the club last season, the conduct of the younger members throughout was exemplary, and he hoped that would augur well for the ensuing term. On the proposition of Mr C. D. Dagg, the balance sheet was adopted. The chairman then called upon the meeting to elect a president to take office for the new year, and in doing so said that for some years past the club had done him the honor of electing him as their president, and that the appointment was a very great pleasure to him, and should they again do him the honor, he would, as in past times, have the club's interests at heart On the motion of Mr J. M'Corinochie, seconded by Mr C. D. Dagg, Mr Wenkheim was again elected as president for the year ensuing. Mr Wenkheim rose and thanked those present for the honor done him, and said that the position was no gain to him in any way, but was purely a labour of love. Messrs E. T. Wing, F. St. Omer, E. C. W. Porter, W. D. Warren, F. J. Burgess, E. H. Wilmot and Dr Douglas, were elected vice-presidents. On the motion of Mr Wenkheim, seconded by H. Porter, Mr S. B. Petterssen was again elected captain for the season.

Proposed by C. D. Dagg, seconded by J. A. Gardner, and carried that H. Robin and H. E. Porter be joint deputycaptains. Messrs J. Blade, J. A. Gardner, J. M'Connochie, C D. Dagg and J. 0. M'Bride were appointed as a working committee on the motion of Mr S. B. Petterssen.

The signing of all cheques was left with the President and Secretary, as well as the arrangements concerning the renting of the hall.

The practice nights were set down for Monday and Thursday in each week, the opening practice being fixed for Monday next, 6th May. The usual courtesy to the chair closed the meeting.
