This instance is an old one—it used to amuse us as schoolboys—of what the want of a comma will do:— C»sar entered on his head His helmet on his feet His sandals in his hand His trusty sword in his eye An angry glare.
Mr. Carrington Ley, a schoolmaster, of Maidstone, say* he once asked some children to write out some lines (which they had learned orally) from Scott— Where's Harry Blount, Fitz-Eustace, where 1 Linger ye here, ye hearts of hare ? The result was as follows Where's Harry Blount which used ter swear Linger ye here ye hearts of air.
