♦ ( As a cheerful sign of the times—especially 1 amongst agriculturalists. Mr Thomas Bell (of j Messrs T. Bell and C 0.,) reports having had on I Saturday one of the most successful sales that has been held in this district for a considerable time < past. In addition to residents from Queenstown, i Arrow, aud surrounding neighbourhood, there were buyers from the Head of Lake, Skippers, Macetown etc., and the competition was remarkably keen for 1 some lines offered such as horses and fat stock. The property was that of the late Mr James Ogilvie, at Millers Flat, and comprised a freehold of nearly 100 acres, with outbuildings, etc., growing crops, houses, dairy cattle, fat stock, farm implements—the whole of which fetched capitdl prices, notwithstanding the terms were strictly cash at the fall of the hammer. _ LATEST QUOTATIONS. Dunedin, this day. Best bullocks are £8 10s, and fat shsep 15s 3d ; lambs, lis 3d. Prime mutton tallow fetched 19a 6d. Heavy hides, 3il. Chaff £3 per ton. Prime millirg wheat is 4a Bd.
