Through a misleading postal notice we stated last week that the outward 'Frisco mail would close here 011 Tuesday evening last. It appears, however, that the mail will not leave Dunedin until Wednesday morning next, and consequently will close at the Queenstown post-office on Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Our Skippers correspondent wires to-dayA miner, named Matthew Harney, while working in the Phienix mine, had the thumb and fore-finder of his right hand blown ott this morning by a charge of dynamite exploding whilst charging a hole." The sum of £8 4s (including £1 kindly returned f->r u.ie of the Garrison Hall) has l een forwarded to Dunedin, as the proceeds of the entertainment given by the local Brasß Band in aid of the Ivakanui Relief Fund. One day's takings last week at a cheap drapery sale at Christchun h amounted to the very respectable auin of £9OOO.
