How many questions arise wherethe family physician i 9 unable to unravel the ca-e, and where often the patient lingers on, not daring to tell his family medical adviser the nature of his eoniplai .t, until eon-umption, wasting or mental diseases set in, and the sufferer gets beyond a curabie stage, and is left a boneless wreck. A letter written in the privacy of the room and dropped in the post 1.-ox reaches me quietly; the answer is returned as quietly and unostentatiously, and the patient, without stepping from his chamber, except to post his letter, is by return of :>o-t put in full possesion of the nature of bis ca«e. His hopes are raised, h's doubts removed, and he is comparatively a new man ; in fact, in many cases, a new being altogether. The only addition to the ordinary written letter is the age, occupation, habits and symptoms, nothing more.
