" Mines Act, 1877," and with the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease. Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before tha 28th day of February, 1878. TT7E Hereby give notice that we intend to construct a water-race and divert water for mining purposes, commencing at a point about one mile and a half up Pleasant Creek, thence down south side of said Creek, thence across Pleasant Creek Terrace, and terminating at our claim on the South side of Pleasant Creek Terrace. The length of such race is two and a quurte miles or thereabouts, and its intended c*ursoiseeats t and west down the creek, and north and south across the terrace. The mean depth and breadth of such race is eighteen inches by two feet six inches, and it is proposed to divert ten Government heads of water.
