THE ATHENÆUM AND TOWN HALL COMPANY.

TO TIIE EDITOR OF THE WAKATIP MAIL. Sir, —Can you tell me whether the directors of the Town Hall Company have really done anything towards caring for our property, and conserving the interests of the shareholders. As far as 1 have been enabled to learn, they have allowed a heavy over draft to remain on the bank books, while there is a large sum owing in the shape of calls and other debts. In fact, I hear the directors have never met for many months —almost years. Really, Sir, this is too bad, and I question if the Joint Stock Companies' Act were carried out strictly, whether the Company would not be placed in a fix.—Yours, &c. t A Shareholder. Queenstown, Feb. 1&, 1875.
